Apex Climbing Gym is coming up on its second birthday and we are going to CELEBRATE with our second annual BlocFête climbing competition ("fête" means party or festival in French). This is more than just a comp, it’s a community festival and a celebration of climbing. Whether you register to compete or not, come and join the fun!

Schedule

11:30 AM - 2 PM : Session 1
2:30 - 5 PM : Session 2
5:00 - 5:30 PM : Eat, drink, socialize
5:30 - 6 PM : Awards for Beginner&Intermediate Level + Gender categories
6 - 7:10 PM : Finals for top 4 Advance and top 5 Open scorers
8:30 PM : Finals awards for top 3 in each Gender

On-site registration and check-in starts 1 hour before each Session begins

Categories, Scoring, and Format

You will be placed in Gender + Level categories according to your booking responses. Please be as honest as possible in your assessment of your ability in order to provide the opportunity for all competitors to compete fairly. Apex Climbing Gym reserves the right to disqualify or shift to another Category anyone who is determined to be sandbagging.

Gender categories:

Male / Non-Binary
Female / Non-Binary

Level categories:

Beginner : VB/V0-V2 (White & Red Tags)
Intermediate : V3-V5 (Yellow & Green Tags)
Advanced : V5-V7 (Green & Blue Tags)
Open : V7 and harder (Blue & Black Tags)

Sessions 1 and 2 are scored via Redpoint Rounds rules : Your total score is sum of points for your top 5 valued boulders successfully climbed

Finalists will be (by Gender) as follows:

Top 4 Advanced scorers
Top 5 Open scorers

The format for all finals will be Modified Redpoint with 4 minute rotation period

Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 finishers in each Level + Gender categories, for a total of 24 prizes

Cash prizes will be awarded for the top 3 Open finalists for each Gender. The amounts are TBD depending on sponsorship.
