The purpose of this clinic is to give sport climbers more tools to confidently project challenging climbs, as well as get all their gear back at the end of the day!
Have you ever wanted to try a climb, but been a bit intimidated by the blank looking section between the bolts and stayed away?
Have you been interested in a climb or a crag but been worried about how you'd get your gear to the anchors without having to bail mid route?
Are you a lighter belayer that wants more tools and techniques for supporting your heavier climbing partner in their goals?
If you answered yes to any or all of these, then this clinic is for you!
We'll spend some time looking at three specific tools and how they can help us have more confident, fun days outside sport climbing: stick clips, adjustable leashes, and ascenders. These will all be provided for the clinic, but you're welcome to bring your own if you want to practice with your own gear.
Other required gear is your own harness, shoes, and preferred belay device. This clinic will be more fun and most beneficial if you sign up along with one of your regular climbing partners, but we can find you a buddy if needed. The clinic will be 2.5 hours long, with a bathroom/refuel break in the middle. We will spend most of the clinic practicing skills, so come ready to climb and problem solve!
