Not all outdoor fixed sport anchors are the same. Sometimes there are hangers, chains, and rings and other times you might just have a pair of bolts. This class is designed as a more in-depth look into the numerous types of anchors out there and how to approach each. You'll get hands-on experience building various types of anchors with a range of gear to help boost your technical climbing IQ. This is a 2-3 hour clinic.
Cost: $95 for members | $140 for guests
Max Number of Participants: 4
Additional Notes: While this is a Gym to Crag class, as of now this class will be taught indoors at a Peak Experiences location.
Prerequisites: 16+ years of age. Lead Climb and Belay Certified at Peak Experiences or equivalent knowledge. Comfortable climbing grade 5.7.
This is an introduction to outdoor sport anchors and while it provides a solid foundation of knowledge, it cannot cover every scenario possible. Rock climbing is an inherently dangerous sport and there are more uncontrollable risks outdoors. Please exercise caution, but remember to have fun!
Please bring your harness, belay device, shoes, and any personal climbing gear you would like to incorporate into the class. All outdoor specific gear will be provided for participants.
