Top Rope Anchors 101

Event Details

Establish or expand your outdoor climbing opportunities by learning to set up top rope anchors with natural protection, such as trees and boulders. Your instructor will demonstrate, discuss and supervise while you gain hands on experience with basic anchor principals.

Topics include gear inspection, route selection, top site safety, basic knots, anchor construction and anchor evaluation. Participants who have completed this lesson should then be able to build their own top rope anchors in the many of our regional climbing areas with basic techniques. Instructors will provide the necessary equipment, or we can use yours if you would prefer to practice with your own gear. Equipment purchased from Rock Spot is discounted for participants.

$119 for Members
$149 for Non-Members

Lessons are held from 2pm - 6pm, following a separate Outdoor Experience climbing session in the morning.
(November events are 1pm-5pm)

Contact guiding@rockspotclimbing.com with questions or to set up a private session with flexible scheduling and more location options. Private sessions require a 2 participant minimum or 1 individual paying the equivalent of 2 participants.
