Looking for new belay partners?

Whether you've just finished a Roped Beginners' course, moved to a new area, or want to grow your climbing circle – our Roped Socials are a great way to meet other climbers and find belay partners.

(Formerly known as Climbers' Club - Partner Scheme), these relaxed 2-hour sessions are open to registered roped climbers. Although not an instructed session, a TCA instructor will lead introductions and a group warm-up. They will also be on hand to offer belaying tips, good practice advice and friendly support for those who need it – especially helpful if you’re new to the centre or roped climbing in general.

Please note: You must be a competent top-rope and lead climber to attend the group. Roped Social is not suitable for anyone looking to learn lead climbing – check out our Adult Lead Courses. Had a break from climbing? Whether life got busy or other priorities took over, this session is designed to help competent rope climbers refresh key skills like tying in and belaying. It’s a chance to rebuild confidence, ask questions and make sure you're climbing safely – so you can get back to enjoying your sessions and keeping your partner safe.

This course is for people who already know how to climb with ropes but need a refresher.

Please note: bookings must be made in pairs - we can not refresh a belayer who does not have a climbing partner!

You’ve learned to top-rope – and maybe you've done some outdoor sport climbing - but now it's time to experience outdoor climbing the way it was originally done. Our Intro to Trad Climbing course is designed for confident beginners and also more experienced indoor climbers, who are comfortable top-rope belaying and are ready to step outside. Build confidence on natural rock and gain some essential skills and experience for trad climbing at local outdoor crags.

Traditional climbing, or "trad," is a form of rock climbing where the leader places removable protective gear (nuts, cams) in the rock for safety, rather than using pre-placed bolts.

Led by expert instructors, this course will teach you how to safely approach outdoor trad climbing, from what to expect on a "rack" of gear, how to manage and assess proper gear placement while climbing outdoors, and managing risk in a new environment.

By the end of the course, you’ll have developed a clear, contextual understanding of the trad climbing world—what it involves and how it works. Looking for a fun, easy way to try climbing? Our taster sessions are the perfect introduction – whether you're after a one-off adventure or curious about taking it further.

Climbing is a social, active and creative sport that’s surprisingly easy to get into – making it a fantastic way to stay fit. These 'have-a-go' sessions let you try bouldering, roped climbing and auto belays. No previous experience required.

Session length may vary depending if you book an adult, family or kids-only taster. Check calendar for availability.

By the end of the session, you’ll be ready to visit the centre as a boulderer and auto belay user. (Children will still need supervision). If you'd like to keep climbing on the ropes, our Beginners' Courses are the perfect next step.

Roped climbing adventures for growing confidence

Climbing is a brilliant way for kids to stay active, burn energy and build confidence – all while having loads of fun. In our Rockhoppers classes, children use ropes and harnesses to explore climbing walls in a supportive, instructor-led environment.

Each weekly session introduces key climbing skills through games, movement challenges and our in-house award scheme. There’s no need for prior experience – just a sense of adventure and a willingness to try.

Looking for a fun, easy way to try climbing? Our taster sessions are the perfect introduction – whether you're after a one-off adventure or curious about taking it further.

Climbing is a social, active and creative sport that’s surprisingly easy to get into – making it a fantastic way to stay fit. These 'have-a-go' sessions let you try bouldering, roped climbing and auto belays.

Session length may vary depending if you book an adult, family or kids-only taster. Check calendar for availability.

By the end of the session, you’ll be ready to visit the centre as a boulderer and auto belay user. (Children will still need supervision). If you'd like to keep climbing on the ropes, our Beginners' Courses are the perfect next step.

Looking for a birthday party that’s active, exciting and seriously fun? Our climbing parties are designed to give kids an unforgettable experience – whether it’s their first time on the wall or they’re already little pros.
Led by friendly, experienced instructors, these sessions are full of climbing, games and laughter – a brilliant way to celebrate in a social and supportive setting.
Want to keep the party going? Many of our centres offer space and food options for post-climb celebrations. You’re welcome to bring your own cake or let us look after the food. Check with your local centre to see what catering options are available when you book.

What to wear
Comfort is key – we recommend non-restrictive clothing like leggings, tracksuits or t-shirts, with comfy trainers or plimsolls. Please avoid anything too loose or baggy. Bring layers you can adjust as you warm up.
