Practical Skills in a Social Setting
Looking for a physical activity that engages the brain as much as the body? Our instructed climbing sessions provide a structured environment where students can develop real-world skills while staying active.
Climbing has a positive effect on participants' personal growth, improving confidence and teamwork skills whilst helping to embed transferable values such as fairness and respect.
National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme
We can take students through the National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme (NICAS) which is an accredited structured learning model to take participants from absolute beginners to highly accomplished climbers.
Who is it for?
Ages 10-16 (all abilities welcome – no previous experience required).
In these sessions, participants move beyond just climbing walls. They learn the technical side of the sport, including knot-tying and belaying (managing safety ropes for a partner). Under the guidance of our expert instructors, the group works together to build trust, improve communication and solve problems on the wall.
Climbing sessions include
- Technical instruction: A comprehensive introduction to safety systems and equipment.
- Personal coaching: Guidance to improve technique and movement skills.
- Group activities: Challenges designed to encourage teamwork and friendly competition.
- Social connection: A dedicated space to bond with peers in a relaxed environment.
