TINY ACADEMY

Tiny Academy is a relaxed and informal bouldering session for parents, carers and children under 5. Whether you’re a regular climber or new to the sport (no prior experience required) this is a great way to get active while introducing little ones to climbing in a fun and supportive environment.

This isn’t an instructed session, but a friendly team member will be on hand to help things run smoothly. They can also assist with childcare, so parents can take turns climbing.

Many of our Tiny Academy parents have met great friends here, finding a supportive space to share the joys and challenges of early parenthood.

Climbing is instinctive for young children, and Tiny Academy lets them explore safely at their own pace. Whether they’re clambering on the mats, taking their first climbing steps, or just soaking up the energy, this session encourages confidence, movement, and fun.

Booking tips: If it's your first time at Tiny Academy, please come early to go through supervision and forms with staff. If you are bringing more than 1 adult and 2 children you may be asked to complete multiple forms.

Please note: Parents remain responsible for their children at all times.

TCA runs a range of social sessions.

At their heart, our socials are about meeting other climbers and building connections within our friendly community. They're a relaxed, welcoming way to climb alongside other people, share routes and problems, and get to know the wider TCA community.

Some sessions are instructed, some aren't and a few are aimed at specific groups within the community.

A fun, social bouldering session just for teens.

Looking for a weekly dose of climbing, movement and good vibes? Youth Boulder Club is a sociable bouldering session designed especially for young people aged 12 and up. Whether your teen is completely new to climbing, working through NICAS, or just wants to hang out with others while staying active – this is the place.

Sessions include skill-building, technique tips and time to climb freely with friends. For those progressing through NICAS, there’s time to update logbooks during sessions too.

Important:
First-time climbers must attend their first session with a parent and watch our induction video beforehand.

Want to climb with more confidence and greater control? Our two-part Movement and Technique courses are designed to help climbers at any stage build solid skills, refine their technique and achieve goals.

Led by experienced instructors, this suite of classes targets key climbing skills – from building solid fundamentals to refining technique for specific challenges – giving you the tools to climb with confidence and control. Whether you're a complete beginner, an intermediate climber stuck on a plateau, or an experienced climber targeting specific weaknesses, there's a course to suit you.

Choose from four focused options:
– Fundamentals: Build a strong foundation in movement and technique.
– Break into Blues: Tackle the next grade with confidence.

This course includes:
✔ Two instructor-led sessions
✔ 1:4 ratio

Each class must be booked separately. However, once Class 1 is booked, participants will be automatically added to an association for one month. If they book Class 2 within that period, they will receive a £4 discount.

Our Youth Bouldering sessions are packed with energy, creativity and challenge – the perfect environment for young climbers to build skills, strength and confidence. Led by qualified and enthusiastic instructors, these weekly classes offer a fun and structured introduction to the world of bouldering, where problem-solving and movement go hand in hand.

Bouldering is a dynamic and social form of climbing that doesn’t require ropes or harnesses. It’s all about using balance, technique and creative thinking to work out short climbing ‘problems’ – helping young climbers stay active, focused and confident.

Participants work through a progressive syllabus that starts with the basics and builds towards more advanced skills. Each stage introduces new challenges as young climbers grow in ability, knowledge and confidence.

Youth Bouldering sessions can be block booked initially with single sessions released separately.

Looking for a birthday party that’s active, exciting and seriously fun? Our climbing parties are designed to give kids an unforgettable experience – whether it’s their first time on the wall or they’re already little pros.
Led by friendly, experienced instructors, these sessions are full of climbing, games and laughter – a brilliant way to celebrate in a social and supportive setting.
Want to keep the party going? Many of our centres offer space and food options for post-climb celebrations. You’re welcome to bring your own cake or let us look after the food. Check with your local centre to see what catering options are available when you book.

What to wear
Comfort is key – we recommend non-restrictive clothing like leggings, tracksuits or t-shirts, with comfy trainers or plimsolls. Please avoid anything too loose or baggy. Bring layers you can adjust as you warm up.
