It’s more than practice falls. Fear and stress are part of our lives constantly and whether you realize it or not, impact not just your climbing but every decision you make. Fear can play a huge role in our climbing, creating unhelpful narratives in our minds or leading to being unable to try hard. Our goal isn't to ignore it or to totally get rid of it (it can be helpful) but to work through the irrational parts so that we can climb how we want to.We'll go over some sports psychology, skills to manage stress, and give you tools to practice focusing your attention where you want it to be. It takes consistent practice to see results, but we can give you the tools to grow and interact with fear in a way that you're comfortable with.
This clinic focuses on rope climbing, especially lead climbing and is recommended that people have experience with it, but it’s not required. Fear can come into play top roping as well and all are welcome to join to work on these skills.
