Bouldering Competition

Ages: Minimum 5 years old

We’re stoked to announce that our annual Fall bouldering competition, Boulder Bash 9, will be held the week of Sunday, November 9th.

We’ll kick off a week-long Redpoint Round on Sunday, November 9th with donuts and coffee. You’ll have until closing time on Thursday, November 13th to climb your heart out on a host of fresh comp-style boulders. Points are awarded for sends, with the most points awarded for flashes and fewer points for subsequent attempts.

The top 10 competitors will be invited to participate in an Onsight Finals round the evening of Friday, November 14th. The rest of us will eat pizza, drink beer, and cheer the top competitors on from the Mezzanine while they duke it out for the top 3 podium spots.

Members: $25 gets you donuts, coffee, a t-shirt, a week of climbing, and an onsight finals round with beer + pizza.
Non-Members: $50 gets you the above, plus a weeklong membership to the gym.

We hope this new format will be the perfect blend of accessibility and hype that you’ve come to expect from your favorite neighborhood bouldering gym, and we sincerely hope you join us for it!

Class Descriptions

Boxing Fundamentals
Learn the fundamentals of boxing! In this class you'll become proficient in foot-work, rotational power, striking, and catching with focus mitts. The class caters to people who have never boxed or to those who need a refresher. After, you'll have the basic skills necessary to feel confident in the regularly offered boxing classes at Bridges. This is NOT a prerequisite for the regularly scheduled boxing classes but it is helpful.

Boxing
*First time taking Boxing? Please take our Fundamentals class first. *

It's time to meet your match with Christi + Mike in the Yoga Shed to test your strength, agility, and willpower. Students will alternate between cardio, boxing drills, and strength training to learn how to fight like a champ and roll with the punches. Experience a full-body workout that targets your core, improves cardio, and enhances coordination in this intense class burner! If you are a beginner or it’s your first time taking this class you’re welcome to show up early and get a one-on-one introduction with the instructor. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required to participate.

*HIIT *
HIIT, short for High Intensity Interval Training, is a functional full- body workout to improve energy levels, metabolic rate, strength, and endurance. These timed drills can be performed at your own pace and level but can also push your body out of its comfort zone.

Pilates Mat
It all begins at the core. Strengthen + tone your body's power center in Pilates Mat. Referred to as the "art of controlled movements”, Pilates puts emphasis on alignment, breathing techniques, and developing a strong core by using your own body weight. This class focuses on slow, controlled movements to help build strength, better postural alignment, focus, and flexibility.

TRX
TRX is short for Total Body Resistance exercise. The TRX uses your bodyweight and gravity as resistance to build strength, coordination, flexibility, balance, core and joint stability. A great way to get in shape and have fun!

TRX + HIIT
Combining two of our favorite modalities, TRX + HIIT uses Total Body Resistance Exercises and pairs them with kettlebell and dumbbell strength movements and cardio bursts for an all encompassing workout. High Intensity Interval Training is used to improve energy levels, metabolic rate, strength, and endurance. These timed drills can be performed at your own pace and level but can also push your body out of its comfort zone. All levels!

Movement
The primary focus in Movement is to help students move efficiently in all planes of motion without compromising posture or joint stability. It is designed to help improve strength, power, flexibility, mobility, and coordination for all levels. Experiment with mobility and get in shape while you do it.

Power Vinyasa

These classes encourage you to explore your limits and challenge your practice through dynamic flows that build strength and increase endurance.

Vin to Yin
Vin to yin is a well-balanced full-body class that incorporates both vinyasa flow and restorative yin postures. The first half of class is centered on dynamic flowing movements to strengthen the body and improve balance, and the second half of class slows down into deep yin stretches held for 3-5 minutes.

Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a great way to start your journey in creating balance and settling into stillness. This style of yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine and focuses on the lengthening of muscles. The poses are held longer to help restore and relax the body.
